Meet Dr. Deborah Villanueva
Care that respects your story.
I’m Dr. Deborah Villanueva, DSW, MSW, LCSW, a California licensed clinical social worker. I provide virtual therapy in English and Spanish for adolescents, adults, and older adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, and life transitions.
I earned my Doctor of Social Work at the University of Southern California and my Master of Social Work at California State University, Northridge. My clinical and community work includes supporting survivors of sexual assault, human trafficking, and complex trauma.
I also serve on the Los Angeles County Sexual Assault Council for the June 2025–June 2027 term. My work is grounded in respect for each person’s dignity, identity, culture, and choices.

We will decide what helps, together.
Therapy begins with listening. We will talk about what brought you here, what is getting in the way, and what you would like to change. You do not need to have everything figured out before our first conversation.
My approach combines evidence-based methods with attention to the relationships, cultural experiences, and circumstances that shape your life. Depending on your goals, we may work on coping skills, emotional regulation, unhelpful thought patterns, boundaries, or the effects of painful experiences.
You are an active participant in this process. We will agree on goals, check how therapy is working for you, and adjust our approach when needed. Questions and feedback are welcome.
I strive to offer an affirming space for people of different cultures, identities, and backgrounds, including LGBTQIA2-S clients.
